1. Who we are

WalkEase is operated by Ashia Sadler (sole trader), based in the United Kingdom. For the personal data we collect from you as a WalkEase user, we act as the data controller.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — name, email, login credentials.
• Business data you enter — your clients' names, contact details, addresses, dog details, walks, invoices, notes.
• Usage & telemetry — pages visited, features used, device type, IP address (collected for security and product improvement).
• Support messages — content of any emails you send us.

3. Why we use it

• To create and operate your account (contract performance).
• To deliver the WalkEase service to you (contract performance).
• To prevent fraud and keep the service secure (legitimate interests).
• To improve the product (legitimate interests).
• To respond to support requests (legitimate interests).

4. Who we share it with

• Service providers (subprocessors) — hosting and database (Supabase / AWS), text-generation providers (Anthropic, for Assistant features), mapping (Mapbox), and subscription management (RevenueCat).
• Subscription payments — WalkEase Pro is bought through the App Store.Apple takes the payment and is the merchant of record; we never see your card details. Some earlier web subscriptions were processed by Paddle.com Market Limited.
• Card payments you take from your own clients — processed by Stripe, paid directly into your nominated bank account.
• Analytics — Google Analytics on this website only, and only if you accept analytics cookies. The app itself carries no analytics SDK.
• Authorities — where required by law.
• Professional advisers — accountants, legal counsel, where necessary.

5. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep it (e.g. tax records).

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

7. Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to: access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, port, and object to processing of your personal data. You may withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We respond to requests within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and database row-level security — to protect your data.

9. Cookies

WalkEase uses essential cookies — login session, security, and remembering your settings — which are always on because the service does not work without them.

This website also uses Google Analytics to count visits, and that is off unless you accept it in the cookie banner. IP addresses are anonymised. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your data.
